Liability coverage
Liability helps pay for covered injuries and property damage you cause to others, up to your policy limits. Ohio’s minimum auto insurance liability limits are $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident for bodily injury, plus $25,000 for property damage. Higher limits can provide additional protection. Liability does not pay to repair your own vehicle.
Collision and comprehensive
Collision generally covers damage to your car from a collision with another vehicle or object, subject to policy terms and a deductible. Comprehensive generally covers other losses, such as theft, vandalism, fire, hail, or a collision with an animal. Lenders and leasing companies may require both.
Uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage
These optional coverages may help with covered injuries caused by a driver with no insurance or insufficient limits. Ask the insurer about eligibility, limits, exclusions, and how the coverage applies to hit-and-run claims.
Medical payments and additional options
Medical payments coverage may help with eligible medical expenses for you and your passengers. Rental reimbursement and roadside assistance may also be available. Compare the details and cost of each option.
SR-22 and non-owner needs
An SR-22 is proof of financial responsibility filed by an insurer when required. It is not a separate type of policy and does not by itself restore driving privileges. Eligible drivers without a vehicle may be able to obtain non-owner coverage. Tell the insurer about any household vehicle or vehicle you use regularly.
Compare equivalent quotes
Use the same limits, deductibles, drivers, and vehicles when comparing prices. A quote request does not bind coverage. Your issued policy controls when coverage starts and which losses are covered.
